What you'll learn about naming ceremonies in the course
Identifying meanings and symbolism in names
During our online course, you'll gain knowledge on the importance of naming ceremonies for families.
You'll also learn to effectively research children's names, gathering the meaning and symbolism of each name, both from the parents and from the internet.
Preparing for a naming ceremony
Preparation is key for any ceremony, naming ceremonies especially.
Since this ceremony marks the beginning of the child's life, you must ensure all props, drafts and scripts are meticulously planned and executed. This is what our online course will teach you.
Conducting a naming ceremony
With everything planned and prepared, all that's left is to conduct the ceremony.
In our course, you'll be given the skills to conduct namings to the highest standard. You'll also gain valuable tips on managing emotions and crowds in unforeseen situations.
The keys to a great naming ceremony
Positive vibes
A naming ceremony is a time to be cheerful and in good spirits. As a Minister, you're in charge of keeping the good vibes up!
Inspiration
Parents want to feel inspired about their new child, which is why we celebrate the meaning and importance of every name.
Professionalism
A professionally conducted ceremony is a good one, and this is what you'll strive to achieve as a Minister.
More information on naming ceremonies
What is a naming ceremony, and what is its purpose?
A naming ceremony is an opportunity to welcome, name and celebrate a unique and beautiful little person as they begin their life.
With your client's guidance, you'll research the meaning and characteristics of their chosen name and craft it into a very personal, beautiful ceremony.
Can you encorporate enhancements?
You can offer enhancements to ensure your client's ceremony will be as unique as their baby. Some examples are taking hand or footprints for posterity, or a memory book to record the loving wishes of family and friends.

What comes after a naming ceremony?
Apart from naming ceremonies, FuturFaith Ministers often offer Coming of Age ceremonies to cater for children between 6 to 12 years of age, before teenhood.
