Comedian-turned-celebrant bringing warmth, humour and genuine connection to life’s most meaningful ceremonies.
Hi, I’m Alan! I'm a registered solemniser based in Dublin.
I come to this work with a real love of people, stories, and moments that matter. It's a privilege and a joy to listen to your story and be invited to craft your ceremony into something memorable and special.
For years, I’ve worked in theatres around Ireland as a performer, writer, and director, so I’ve always been drawn to telling stories that bring people together.
No two ceremonies should ever feel the same. Some are full of laughter, some are more reflective, and most are a mix of both. Together, we’ll find the tone that feels right for you. As a celebrant, what I care about most is creating something that feels genuine, relaxed, and full of heart. Whether it’s a wedding, vow renewal, or baby naming that calls for brightness and a bit of sparkle, or an end-of-life ceremony that requires sensitivity, it's my priority to help your unique story resonate and land perfectly.
I work with you beforehand and listen carefully to your needs. On the day, my role is to guide the moment with warmth, calm, and a sense of ease and confidence, so you can be fully present and, on happy occasions, actually enjoy it (and maybe even have a laugh along the way).
While many people know me from comedy or pantomime, as a celebrant, I take this ministry seriously. Of course, let's have fun and laugh if it's right for you and the moment, but I should not be the centre of attention. My job is to help you, or your loved one's story, shine and take centre stage.
I approach every ceremony with care and respect. It’s a meaningful, often emotional part of the day, and I hold that gently, while it can also feel light, joyful, and true to who you are.
I’m registered with the HSE as a legal wedding solemniser and ordained as a FuturFaith Minister, which means I welcome couples of all backgrounds, spiritualities, or faiths or none at all. At its core, I see a ceremony as more than just an event. It’s a moment of pause, a chance to mark something real, and to stand together in it with intention.
These are beautiful memories and moments to be invited to make with you. This is work I feel genuinely honoured to do. If you’re looking for someone who will bring a steady presence, a bit of brightness, and a ceremony that really feels like you, I’d love to be part of it.
