I have spent over 35 years listening to and telling people's stories.

As a broadcast journalist my career has always been about communication.

So, it seemed like a natural fit when I made the decision to become a celebrant. For me, the couple, family, or individual is at the heart of a ceremony. There is no one size that fits all. I bring my story-telling experience to the table, to create something that feels true to you and is both personal and thoughtful.

Before embarking on this new adventure, here's a little of my backstory.

I spent most of my working life with RTÉ, Ireland's National Broadcaster - working both behind the mic and in front of the camera - so I know a thing or two about holding an audience! I presented TV news bulletins, edited radio news and reported for programmes like Morning Ireland, The Week in Politics and the Oireachtas Unit. I was a familiar voice on "It says in the papers" on Morning Ireland.

Over the years, I have lived and worked abroad – In New York as a technical writer for a medical devices company; in London managing merchandise for West End Theatres; and in Italy teaching English in a European School.

I currently serve on the board of The Theatre Royal Waterford.
