Hello, I'm Marion! I love meeting and getting to know people, finding out about their journey up to the day I meet them. Whether it's to prepare a Wedding, Baby Naming or Celebration of Life ceremony, I like to get an understanding of what is special to my couples/families and then create the perfect ceremony with them.
A little bit about me:
Before I became a FuturFaith Minister, I worked for over 30 years with an international airline in various roles. I had access to all departments in Dublin, Cork and Shannon, where I met great people from all walks of life.
I'm currently on the board of directors of a credit union, and I volunteer with an organisation looking after ex-service personnel in their support centre. I also volunteer with The Helix.
I love meeting people and get great joy from delivering ceremonies. I feel becoming a celebrant was one of my best decisions I made. I look forward to working with couples, parents and families to give them a ceremony they will love and look back on forever.
For Wedding ceremonies:
I can prepare a unique personalised ceremony for you and your fiancé, and can offer many enhancements, including:
- Handfasting, where the couple's hands are tied together. This is an old Celtic tradition.
- A sand-blending ceremony, where different colours of sand are added to a container by family or friends. This can be a lovely ritual for blended family participation.
- A ring warming ceremony, where your wedding rings are passed to friends and family. You choose who and how many people. They will return the rings after holding them in their hands and passing on their love and wishes to you, the couple, for your future together.
I am also open to discuss any special enhancement you may wish to include, and hope you will look back in years to come and say it was a wonderful ceremony and a perfect start to your married life together.
For Baby Naming ceremonies:
What a wonderful occasion to welcome a new member into your family!
I can work with parents or guardians to craft a personalised Baby Naming, which can include enhancements/rituals such as:
- A Rose Water Petal ceremony, where family and friends place their best wishes and intentions into individual petals, place them in water, and later on, baby's feet will be bathed in that same water, enriched by the blessings of their nearest and dearest.
- A tree which can be planted to grow throughout the child's lifetime, side by side with your new little bundle of joy.
- A Memory Box ritual, where family and friends can, for example, bring forward a photo and heartfelt note/message for the baby, and place them into a sealed box for opening later in life.
For Funerals (or 'Celebration of Life') ceremonies:
When a loved one dies, it can be a very emotional (and sometimes confusing) period for those left to arrange a fitting farewell.
I can work with a member of the family to get information on the type of person the deceased was; their interests, hobbies, life philosophy, and so on.
From that, I can then put together a fitting ceremony and eulogy, and craft with your family a celebration of life that truly captures the essence of your loved one.
