Answer

Shadowing sessions are supported by simple reflection interviews designed to help you process what you observe and turn it into practical learning.

Learning is captured in two stages:

Before the ceremony

Before the ceremony begins, you are invited to reflect on:

  • What you are most curious to observe,
  • What you hope to learn from the experience, and
  • Where you are currently at in your Path to Ministry training.

This helps you arrive with intention and awareness, making it easier to notice details that matter to you personally.

After the ceremony

Shortly after the ceremony, you are invited to reflect on:

  • What stood out most during the ceremony,
  • Moments that surprised or challenged you,
  • Techniques or approaches you want to remember, and
  • How the experience might influence your own practice,

This post-ceremony reflection is where much of the learning lands. By articulating your observations while the experience is fresh, you deepen your understanding and retain insights that can later inform your own ceremonies.

These reflections support, but do not replace, your formal coursework and assessments, which are covered in Feedback & Grading.
