Shadowing Sessions

Question

Getting Started

During Training

After Graduation

Answer

Shadowing sessions are strictly observational. You will not be asked to speak, perform, assist, or take on any role during the ceremony. Your focus is on watching, listening, and learning from how the celebrant works in practice.

You can, however, engage with our regular, relaxed shadowee chats, before and after the ceremony.

Shadowing is:

  • Observing the ceremony from start to finish,
  • Watching how the celebrant interacts with couples, guests, and venues, and
  • Noticing decision-making, pacing, and adaptability,

Shadowing is not:

  • A performance or assessment,
  • A rehearsal for your own ceremonies, or
  • A substitute for your written assignments or final assessments.

This clear boundary allows you to focus fully on learning without pressure.

Your own delivery skills are developed later through coursework, mock calls, and final assessments, as explained in Feedback & Grading.
